Yeah well ... you keep on making that claim but it's not like you have anything but your unsupported opinion to back it up is there? As far as anyone else can tell you're just invoking the no true scotsman fallacy.

So theology is not at all objective, are you saying? I agree. That's why I don't see how it can on earth be studied at all as a genuine subject! How can theology be a genuine subject if, indeed; God doesn't exist as he almost certainly doesn't? How is "God "to be studied then, in any way, shape or form?

Note to all theists:

I've decided to give up debating you guys because I'm told (by Frodo) that my views on theism hold no validity at all as I can't understand theistic concepts unless I am a part of them.

Sorry!

Well it seems as though it only be 'properly' explained to you if you agree with it beforehand. Methinks Wink

Theists everywhere just breathed a sigh of relief.

But...but...Kyu, who else will take them on in such colourful ways?

I am sick to my back [expletive deleted] teeth of Frodo and his "we can't argue it because we know nothing [expletive deleted] well about it" complete and utter [expletive deleted] stance.

So I give up!

Agreed, and although I agree with him that "we know nothing" (agnosticism), how on earth does that mean it cannot be argued?

For goodness sakes, philosophy is all about arguing things we do not know...

Maybe but while that kind of view is allowed space on this forum, whilst it is allowed to go as unchallenged by most as it is, I can no longer see the point of debating the subject. It's like running face on into a wall of utter and complete stupidity and I genuinely think I might as well pack up and go home!

Haha! Big Grin

How can you discuss theology when you deny it at the same time?? Answer = you don't want to discuss it - you want to justify dismissing it and replace it with science which doesn't cover it. Ergo God can't exist because it doesn't fit scientific models.
