I have been trying to respond to your post, but it seems that everytime I try to quote it, my computer crashes. So here is my response to your question about seeing a pattern in my life.

The only pattern was constant, willful self-destruction along with a refusal to take responsibility for my actions that were worsening my problem. I was my own worst enemy, and once I realized this to be true, I was able to change and bring stability to my life. No god needed. I just needed to take control of my life. This revelation came after hitting rock bottom for the third time in my life, and that would make god a sadistic animal if that's how he wanted to send me a message.

Well, think about it this way. If someone like me approaches you and tells you that Jesus loves you, it doesn't sound like you're hearing that. If God gave you a supernatural experience, you would probably dismiss it as a mental artifact. I know this because I have spoken to more than a few atheists who were given out of body experiences but still deny they have a spirit. So perhaps God in His mercy showed you how tenuous our control really is. That rock bottom may only be one bad afternoon away. That He is in control, and thus our control is ultimately illusionary. It sounds like you got the message, since you were at one point looking for Him.

And no, I didn't do what the bile said as I dismissed it as mere superstition at a young age. Then again, I didn't do what the Koran said either.

Well, I think that if you want to consider the question of whether God is knowable, you would have to ask yourself if He has in fact already communicated with planet Earth. Whether He has sent any representitives, or in the case of Jesus, actually showed up personally. Surely, that would bear investigating if you wanted to logically evaluate the matter, don't you think?

Hey Cinjin According to your biography, you are an ex-christian, now a deist. Do you feel the same way towards all Christians now that you no longer believe? Where do your deist beliefs come from?

I am just exploring the subject with you. You mentioned you had searched for God and I wondered about how you searched for Him..and since you mentioned you never checked out Christianity because you had dismissed it as a little kid, I suggested that logically, it bears consideration if you wanted to actually investigate the question of God seriously. I am not sure exactly how one might rule out God in the first place, being that we are finite beings with limited knowledge.

Christians are everyone's self-proclaimed judge. It's the quintessential part of being a Christian. Judge everyone and always deny ever having judged anyone with colorful outrage - making sure to follow that up with some horse shit deflection about loving everyone the way jesus did. There is NOTHING up your sleeve we haven't heard before. Your words are empty, your religion is a disease, your god, like your life, is pathetic and the reason I'm coming down so hard on you is because you walked into our forums, disrespected our rules and pissed all over the place with your dumb religion. You seem to think its alright to judge me, so why do you have a problem with judgement? I will reiterate, however, that I am no ones judge, and have never claimed to be. As far as breaking your rules, all I've been doing is answering the questions people have posed to me. If that is against the rules, you should advise your membership not to ask Christians questions about Christianity if you do not wish Christians to speak about Christianity.

I'm not sure what I have claimed to be other than a follower of Christ and at rest in His love. I am certainly not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. Could you give me some examples of where I have been masking arrogance and condescension?
