So it stays. Shit, that was a lie. Well, I say it's unconstitutional. ronedee Wrote:Science doesn't have a good explaination for water
Haha Its ok.
I also think it is unconstitutional.
In 2009 an appeals court ruled that "under god" was essentially not a preference for one religion over another ( and thus a violation of the establishment clause.) As far as I know the case was not appealed to the Supreme Court which, given the collection of shitheads presently on it, would have been a waste of time.
The entire concept of having to swear an oath of allegiance to your country as a civilian sounds deeply disturbing to me and reminds me of the darkest days in German history.
I understand having to swear an oath in the army, or as a cop or something. But as a civilian???? Why??????????

It's essentially an utterly meaningless oath, IMO. One asked for and given so easily, without critical thought, renders the meaning of 'oath' void. To most I expect the words are devoid of any meaning whatsoever. Why is it done? Tradition, I suppose. Yes, it's stupid.
I've never been fond of the pledge of allegiance. Even without the "under God" phrase, I've never seen why I should have allegiance to a country just because I happen to have been born and raised there, something completely beyond my control. Don't tell me any of the nation's secrets, because I will sell them to the highest bidder. I don't give a FUCK.

Honestly, I do not understand the point in pledging allegiance to a fucking flag every morning. The under God part is just stupid, but the concept of saying "AMERICA - FUCK YEAH" every morning irks me more. That is exactly what i have done. It does not make sense to say it anymore when in my head, I'm rejecting what it's saying |
