skepticism, yes, I'm not telling you to believe what I say, I'm telling you to understand what I say. I mean, if you think there's someone out there who does know how the world was created, then I suppose you could be skeptical, or if you don't think that humans are an animal, or if you think I'm being mean, I'll admit, a little. But people are deceitful, it's part of being a good hunter.

By saying people are stupid -and we assume you are human- that pretty much undercuts whatever comes out of your mouth next.
Any how, do you have favorite philosophic topics? Did you take a class or two at university?
Alright, I'm sorry that I hurt your feelings. I had to in order to make my point about people not knowing how the universe was created and about people believing other people with extreme gullibility.
I took one class, but I really don't have a favorite philosophical topic-- I mean, I enjoy observations more than abstraction. There are so many philosophy topics. Sorry. I don't know.

Questing for knowledge leads to wisdom, a true philosopher's goal.

Digging shit out of your ass in the meantime is probably more of a hobby then, I presume.

Oh my feelings weren't hurt at all. It was just your opinion, right? Everyone's got one and they don't have to agree. It just didn't seem to make sense for the reasons given.

What's a false philosopher's goal...spouting inane platitudes so that the peasants deem him wise?

That's funny. I thought that's what all philosophers did.

So it doesn't make sense that people are more arrogant than they are intelligent? More deceitful than they are friendly?
I think it's only that I wounded your human arrogance that makes you disagree with me.

Let's just say you've done little more than hand waving to make that point. It is an enormous generalization.

Hah! What an arrogant point of view! No one could possibly disagree with you unless it is for personal reasons. Perhaps because you think what you say is so obviously true? Now you're just being annoying. See ya, asshole.

No, not personal reasons. When I speak of the arrogance of humanity I have several reasons as to why I think this. By creating a God, the god is a reflection of the human. Therefore by worshipping the god as the creator of the universe, you are actually worshipping yourself as the creator of the universe. This makes you arrogant. We were created. By the Earth. Somehow.
By saying that this God is real to people who you think are beneath you so you think will believe you, this makes you deceitful. To speak of miracles as if they happen, this makes you deceitful.
Belief is not about intelligence it is about stupidity.
You have proved to be just like them. Another animal that is built not only to kill but to jail.
All life must kill another in order to survive. Life is brutality. And love is our only escape. And you have shown only disdain.

I don't think most theists are responsible for their belief systems- they inherit them from their families, cultures, and communities. Sure, a very few convert to a totally foreign religion or make up a new one, but most fall into the belief systems they are born to. Yes, there is arrogance aplenty in much religious thinking, but I don't think may theists are, or think they are, worshiping themselves- this seems like the kind of warping of other worldviews that theists do to atheists often. There's enough arrogant crap to combat in theistic thinking without inventing new- and probably inaccurate- reasons.
