And now we know.

Quote:The shooter used a handgun taken from his parents, according to a federal law enforcement source who was briefed on the situation. The shooter then used the handgun to shoot and kill himself, the source told CNN's Evan Perez.
He took it from those "responsible" gun owners....or is that irresponsible gun owners.....or is that they are responsible until they make one little error.....
I'm so confused.

Let me help you out... I'm writing the answer on a piece of paper and I'm placing that piece of paper into my gun safe. Now, If you can get it out, you'll have your answer. Otherwise, figure out the difference between responsible and irresponsible on your own time.

That is what happens here after schoolshotings.
In fact we have laws here that require each legal owner of a gun to safely store their firearms in a safe or other locked up deposite where the gund is not accessable for anyone who is not trained or mature enought to use it.
Technicaly, the police here has the right to visit any gunowner without a warrant and to check if the guns are stored safely.

I think that those are both excellent ideas. I doubt that the latter would be seriously considered, though. It would likely be seen as a violation of the fourth amendment of the US Constitution (forbidding illegal search and seizure, and typically requiring a warrant that can only be secured if there is sufficient cause).

Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

There do not seem to be a whole lot of regulations to follow in Nevada. It seems in that gun nut state you can wear the fucking things on a chain around your neck and its okay.

Texas.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/23...ref=topbar
Quote:A Texas teen was arrested after police say a boy she was babysitting shot and killed himself with her gun while she took a nap.
Melissa Ann Ringhardt, 19, was charged Tuesday in the death of 5-year-old John Read, The Orange Leader reports. Ringhardt lives in Vidor with the boy's family, who left him and a 6-month-old child in her care Monday afternoon, according to NBC News.
Orange County deputies say the teen put her semiautomatic .40-caliber handgun on a coffee table before going to take a nap. When she awoke, she found the 5-year-old lying on the floor in the living room with a gunshot wound to the head.
I suppose we can all agree that this was an irresponsible gun owner.
(Still got to walk around with a gun, though.......)

It's OK, Rick Santorum said that Americans don't have a right to privacy.

Why the fuck do you need to take a loaded handgun with you on a babysitting job? I know it's Texas, but damn.
Of course, then I look at my niece's out-of-control kids, and I think I understand the need.

I keep thinking that the rest of that sentence should read "...after gunning down the band of roving ninjas that were terrorizing the town."

Apparently, she lived there. So the gun was probably laying around all the time.
