Almost anything Trek (except Abrams Trek).
Oh, and Judge Dredd! Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni: "You did WHAT? With WHO? WHERE???"
I can't find a decent image of it but I bought my sister a replica of Dean Winchester's from Supernaturals amulet for Xmas. Not sure what I'd geek out over I'm more into video games than shows or movies. That said the Lanister's guard armour looks incredible.
I'm a complete geek over D&D.
Chemistry.
When people make obscure scifi references in film, tv, or even in person and I giggle like a little girl because I got the reference.

As I've written before, if you are a complete amateur and don't understand a subject, don't demonstrate the Dunning-Kruger effect by writing a book about it and proving your ignorance to everyone else! I'm a closet WoW player.

Soccer, mainly (both M/W), and women's sports in general. The women's soccer team, both coaches and athletes, at my University in the late 90's were super friendly and knowledgable, and that kind of reeled me in.
