1) There are no deities in Libertarianism.
2) Libertarianism is not a religion, it's a political ideology.
3) People today are labelled by today's standards. We don't call modern Democrats racists and slavery supporters, despite the fact that the pro-slavery party in Lincoln's time was the Democratic Party.
Murray Rothbard may have have racist views, and he may have had libertarian leanings (though if you want to be accurate, he was an anarcho-capitalist), but that doesn't mean Libertarianism itself is racist, or other Libertarians are racist, especially when we are talking about Libertarianism today.
Quote:Also, stop pretending like you get to define libertarianism. Libertarianism was originally a synonym for social anarchism. Then capitalists stole it. So you don't get to define libertarianism, & libertarianism is so poorly defined that just about everyone can claim to be a libertarian. What you are doing is no true scotsman at its best.
I'm not defining Libertarianism. Libertarianism is quite nicely defined I think, and the origins of the term don't matter in this discussion. What matters are the views that the term encompasses. Views that are so opposite to racism that it is almost amusing the ways in which you try to equate the two. It's like watching someone try to describe a square circle.
No, just about everyone cannot claim to be a Libertarianism. There are certainly a number of branches of Libertarianism, but the most common and the de-facto stance is that shared by the Libertarian Party of the US. Even ignoring that commonality, you will not find a branch of Libertarianism that is racist, because at the core, all Libertarians believe in personal liberty for everyone. The main disagreements often appear on the fiscal side.
