I keep reading through this, and I'm trying to figure out where I'm wrong, and I sincerely cannot figure it out. Why would someone taking offense to something that I'm doing (which impacts no one else except in positive ways) cause me to change?

Quill, I hope you don't actually live your life changing because people take offense. I'm saddened by this possible revelation. You're obviously a good girl, but you can't live your life trying to please bigots like the author of the article.

It's because you're not doing anything wrong, Rebecca. Your last paragraph is spot on. It's one thing not to harm someone else, but quite another to live your life restricted based on the sensibilities of others. And to be clear, nobody can be harmed by being offended, not in the same way as someone can be harmed when someone is racist to them, or emotionally and physically abused.
