Why is evolution hiding?

Do you think any particular concept of God that you accepted is directly responsible for the change? And what, if any, difference would it make to you now if you were to discover that it was little more than a helpful illusion at the time?

Well it transformed me to do what I couldn't do for myself, so in that case, that illusion did me more good than all the homeopathic supplements, medication, and expensive psychiatric care and Doctors in the world Smile

What if you actually did do it for yourself though, with the aid of your own ideas that only seemed significant to you, but in fact had no casual relationship other than setting up a false narrative in which you felt empowered, and you just haven't given yourself proper credit? Maybe there are other narratives, including true ones, in which you'd feel even more capable?

THat is a real possibility, and if I would have more freedom, fulfillment, and potential, and more diligently improve the world around me, as an adherer to that philosophy, than by all means, may it be done!

What is it about belief in God versus non-belief that you find so inspiring? The idea that the world was created specifically for your enjoyment? Or that you're a special creation above and beyond all other orders of being? I'm trying to understand the connection between your belief in God and the emotional fulfillment or security you draw from it. The idea that an all-powerful, all-knowing being cares for you? And if so, how does he (or she or it) care for you? In what way?

I already told you in the OP that evolution is a fact. Evolution by some people's definition of evolution is indeed hiding. It is not testable according to the scientific method and we simply don't see half gorilla's half humans or do you disagree?

Well if I could prove that God doesn't exist that would be great because then I could go put myself out of my misery and not worry about my soul living on.

I think God cares for me by giving wisdom and guidance now and then, the right people in my life, and letting me recognize that there is no lasting joy in worldliness and immorality.

I wouldn't know all the blessings God has done. If I was suppose to get killed by a drunk driver but God prevented the drunk driver from getting into the vehicle, it isn't like it would dawn on me that my life had just been saved.

Also, if I didn't believe that there was a God, I'd steal all the time (like a did before my conversioin), I'd lie constantly, and I'd never be charitable toward others. Any crime would probably be okay in my eyes provided that people didn't catch me.

For people like me, fear of God is better for those around us.

Half gorilla, half human animals would be a major blow against our current understanding of evolution, not a fact supporting it.

If you think modern ideas of evolution say we should see things like that, you really need to go back and re-study evolution.

Please tell me why it would not be a huge support of Evolution if in the last 10,000 years we were gradually seing certain apes become more like humans?

Because evolution and hybridization are two different things. You'll see creationists who don't understand evolution crowing about how we don't see fish people or Crocoducks or some other nonsense, without realizing that the changes of evolution take place over many generations and years, so you wouldn't get half X and half Y. You'd just get a standalone animal that is cladistically similar to its ancestors, and with foresight, similarly... similar to those of its next generation.

Oh, and also? This process takes much more time than ten thousand years.
