I rarely find people here that really rub me the wrong way.. There are one or two though. They rarely last long before they piss off too many people and are no longer welcome.

I had a friend in high school who used to walk up to absolute strangers and start a conversation with them that assumed they knew him well. They'd think they must know him from somewhere and frantically play along. Then he'd get a puzzled look on his face and say, "wait you're not Fred. I'm sorry but you look so much alike," and walk away.

It's a wonder no one ever punched him.

The other day I was at a bagel shop frequented by the local cops (it's across the street from the police station) and I saw a friends' dad who is a sheriff. I went over to say hi and I asked him how his family was and what his daughter (with whom I was great friends) was up to these days until my order was finished and as I left I was snickering to myself because I could tell he had no idea who I was... :p

I'm pretty sure that as soon as I was out the door the 5 other cops with him were like, "Do you know her from somewhere?"

I met Clueless Morgan today (she's marvelous and beautiful) and I admit to feeling old and over the hill.

You are fabulous and it was great to meet you, too! Jenny A is one talented woman, y'all!

I see him in that bagel shop fairly frequently and I'll smile and wave, and he'll give me that "Who are you?" kind of polite smile back, so I know he still hasn't figured it out.

It's reached a point now that I can't justifiably reintroduce myself to him without making him feel like an idiot for not knowing who I am (I was seriously best friends with his daughter and did sleepovers at her house at least once a month for several years). I'll have to wait until I'm in the shop with my parents (whom he would definitely recognize) or with a friend who I can introduce to him and provide my friend (read:him) with context on how I know him.

That would ruin my fun, though.
