That is where I disagree.
I do not think you should leave AF when your predictions do not come true.
I want as many people with delusional faith based beliefs posting here as possible.
The more your flawed beliefs and ideas are criticized in the public sphere, the better.
I think when your predictions do not come true, you should have to give a small donation (even as low as $10) to a secular charity.
Something like 'Americans United for Separation of Church and State'.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

What I am saying is my understanding, knowledge and confidence on who God is, and His whole plan is not contingent on my being right on that date.
I did not get a vision, audible word from God or some supernatural heavy duty sign about Rosh Hashana.
I stepped out on a series of converging indicators for that day.
Picking a date is a big no- no in my group.
I am far-out for 99% of them.
It's OK with me.

Yet you seemed so certain in your OP. Didn't you have "enough info to step out and declare" a "prophecy date"? Why the volte-face?

Just try to remember that your whole understanding, knowledge and confidence are just that .. yours. Before you come back here preaching, warning or extolling why not just take a step back and think about how antisocial that would be. Do we all tell you what you need to do or why you need to believe as we do? Of course not. It would be presumptuous.
The lesson for you in all this is humility. (Take plenty.)
