Louis C.K., Ricky Gervais, and Chris Rock are my top three.
There's an excellent special from...HBO? (It's on youtube) with Louis, Gervais, Rock, and Jerry Seinfeld all talking about the "theory" of comedy and things that are/aren't off-limits and how their life experiences formed their acts. Super interesting, and very, very funny as you might guess. Over all though, Louis C.K. is my #1

I've watched nearly everything Chris Rock, George Carlin and Dave Chappelle have to offer, so those 3 are my favorites as if now, but I'm looking for others. Any ideas? I do like some Williams and Pryor too, but have only seen one of each of their specials. It is odd because I didn't think I was big on stand up, but I guess I was wrong. I love stand up Comedy. I used to go to open-mic nights and do it a little even (The scariest thing you can do in your life) I'm a big fan of Patrice O'Neal, Jim Norton and of course Louie CK. Carlin's rape routine was really a routine about censorship and freedom of speech, about being able to talk about whatever you want. He didn't actually think rape was funny.
Mitch Hedberg, Norm MacDonald, and Louis CK.
This dude on youtube posts videos of him handling his hecklers. It's pretty fun to watch. https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCHVd0LM1g9S0cttDHkidEHA
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:
"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay." For context, this is the previous verse: "Hi Jesus" -robvalue (December 5, 2014 at 2:57 pm)Exian Wrote: Mitch Hedberg, Norm MacDonald, and Louis CK. I've seen that. 90% sure that he plants his hecklers. (December 4, 2014 at 11:22 pm)Elskidor Wrote: Have any favorites? I've been on a kick recently. I think Chelsea Peretti is pretty funny. So is Amy Schumer. I find strong, female comedians to be pretty funny.
