Hi everyone
Hey Everyone!

I'm Atheist Mom. I've been a lurker in the atheist community for a long time but I have decided to come out of the shadows and onto Youtube. I've started making videos and have a web series on Women of the Bible and what we actually learn from them.

I think that it's important for female atheist to voice themselves as well. I am not a 'Feminist' as the current movement would have it.

I have 3 beautiful daughters and a wonderful husband. Because of my husband's disabilities, and my middle daughters special needs, I'm a stay at home mom.

Because of that we don't have a lot of money, so we have to live with my crazy inlaws, who are mormon. I can't be open about my atheism so I decided to take to the internet.

In my web series, I'm looking at what belief.net says we can learn from women of the bible, then looking at the actual story in the bible, and analyzing what we can really learn from it. It's not pretty and it's not what we want to teach our daughters.

I hope to have a lot of fun with this and hopefully I'll gain a few new subscribers!

RE: Hi everyone
Welcome

I don't call myself a feminist either. The word has gathered too many connotations to know what it means at all any more without extensive background every time it is used. To some it seems the words 'liberal' and 'feminist' are reflexively shunted into the word 'evil.'

Two grown sons and a (shrug) useful spouse.

Good luck with the Mormons. You'll find lots of support here from some very smart and insightful people. Real dullards seem to drift off fairly quickly.

Do be careful though. I am finding this forum to be highly addictive and a real time thief.
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat? Huh
