Interesting. (I'm going to have David Bowie in my head all morning now.) Paul Davies postulates that life on Earth may well have started on Mars in his 'The Origin of Life'. Not sure when I'll get a chance to read it.

So was I. I saw all of the first series of life on Mars and also some ashes to ashes episodes. Ashes to Ashes is good but I prefer Life on Mars so far.
Oh and very interesting. Interesting indeed.
Btw, like 10 years ago I believe I heard in a newspaper that alien bacteria had been found on Mars.
I'm assuming it was discounted then.

This is a great discovery. It's very amazing that there are methan gas on that planet, really intresting!

Wow, I would love to see them find concrete evidence of alien life. . .even if it is just methane producing "organisms below the surface."

It would certainly settle the "how did life begin" debate a bit more. If life can exist elsewhere in out own solar system, why not elsewhere?
