I could only become an anti-Christ at this point. I had long misunderstood what Jesus meant by "the meek shall inherit the Earth", because I understood the word, "meek", to be along the lines of submissive, yielding, gentle but in regards to my relationship with fellow humans. 1. What he meant was that those who are formed by God will inherit the Earth. So blessed are those that can be molded by God. 1. Your interpretation of the bible. Out of thousands. 2. Get help. 3. The existance of the line negates its content. 4. You might be right. God can screw off if she does exist. 5. Complete bullshit. Ask a vet. I've watched people die for this supposedly loving god. See answer 4. 6. Your suggestion that we're not already "decent human beings" is an insult, but frankly par for the course. 7. I have no need of your imaginary friend. See answer 4. Try again.
I reject your reality and substitute my own!

Sounds like you have been through some tough times. There are many good people out there in the flesh and blood. I hope you see some friendly faces.
Hi dontsaygoodnight. Can I ask you about your testimony? I mean, can you share with us the brainwashing process that you've suffered through?

I'm always a hair suspicious of people who make general observations about atheists. Most atheist I know don't spend much time announcing it. What he meant was that those who are formed by God will inherit the Earth. So blessed are those that can be molded by God. I have no idea if it rare for God to speak to someone. For all that I know he speaks with his people on a regular basis. He spoke with me in secret. He gave me no material evidence that I could show to others. I don't feel the need for others to believe that this occurred or even that anyone know that such a thing transpired. It was a personal blessing and a reward. Not for being perfect. Ah, well, many, many people feel that have had a personal encounter with god. The interesting thing is that you don't all come back with the same understanding of what he said. For example your understanding of what was meant by meek, isn't exactly mainstream, and others who say they have encountered god, say other things, even about that every verse. Yet other have an encounter with Allah. So either you are all compulsive liars (probably not the case), god changes his mind a lot or is a compulsive liar (a frightening idea if there really were a god), or the vast majority (if not all) of you didn't actually encounter god, you just felt you did. There are a few charlatans out there, but in most cases, yours included, I'm going with mistaken. Yes, I've noticed that about Christians. You appear as moral and immoral as anyone else. One would think the fear of god would do something. So what are you doing here on a forum largely devoted to discussion and debate about an issue, you will not debate?
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

You never know, I might have been just having a brain malfunction. It was a few years ago. At any rate, my friend was pissed about some of the stereotyping that was going on towards agnostics and atheists and after hearing her, I sympathized, and thought I would post a few words about it which I put into another topic called "Stereotyping and morality". I am sure most people can shrug off some claims that religious people make without resorting to counter stereotyping but in case anyone was not able to, i posted what I thought was relevant about it. I personally believe that knowing what is true and why can be a benefit. |
