The problem that I have with this whole cake-gate situation is the inconsitstency of these "Christians". If these people were actually consistent and also denied service to divorcees and people who are not virgins, the anti-gay sentiment of the problem wouldn't be quite so compounded. Yet when these people come in, the store owners don't ask "is this your first marriage? if you've had a divorce I can't serve you", or "had sex before marriage? no cake". It's because nobody is a seriously devout Christian in America until the subject of gay rights (or abortion) comes up. That's the problem.
It's not really about Christianity, or about Christian views on marriage. These people simply oppose gay marriage and use the faith argument in attempt to give their views credence. If there was anything in the Bible about interracial marriage being wrong white nationalists would use it as an excuse for opposing that too.

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable." - Maryam Namazie
