Alexander City? I hope there are multiple towns by the name in Alabama. Don't let that be the one i live near.
Funnily enough, the brother of one of my black neighbors got spooked by tresspassers late at night. He wanted me to ride over there to check it out, and I said just call the cops. He really didn't like that idea.
I don't like getting specific about where I live in Alabama, but that's pretty close to where I live. That worries me.
If you can afford it, I recommend that you move out of Alabama. No matter whether you are close to that particular story or not.
