A short anecdote on the subject:
I collect watches, and research them to the point of obsession. You could easily say I've got the equivalent of an Associates degree or better on the subject. I can identify watches with a high degree of accuracy from a decent distance away.
Anyway, I attended a catholic service during the holidays with an ex and her family. A very large portion of the service was about the sins of materialism/wealth/etc and how we should give more money to the poor. He had the balls to say such things with a $15,000.00 Rolex on his wrist! (Two tone gold/stainless Submariner 116613LN)
It wasn't taken kindly when I openly commented on that fact...
