Not exactly. Introvert/extrovert is not a dichotomy, but a spectrum. Most people display characteristics of either at different times, depending on circumstances. The main reason people tend to think that you're either one or the other seems to be the continuing abuse of Meyers-Briggs test.
Personally - I tend to be withdrawn regardless of company, which I suppose puts me at the far "intro" side of the scale. The only times I turn extrovert is when I'm really, really drunk/high. And the pitiful outcomes of such situations lead me to believe, that avoiding social situations may be the "healthy" option in my case...
