1. Free to let reality be what it is instead of trying to shoehorn it into what I’ve been told I have to believe
2. Free of the cognitive dissonance that comes from trying to shoehorn reality into what I’ve been told I have to believe
3. Free to explore real answers to my problems instead of blaming stuff on the devil and waiting for god to answer my prayers in his time which might not be until the sun goes nova
4. Free to explore various ideas and decide for myself if something makes sense and is an acceptable conclusion.
5. Free from having to adhere to what the Church currently categorizes as sin
6. Free from making myself vulnerable by forgiving people who are intent on doing me harm.
7. Free to socialize with some of the most intelligent and interesting people this planet has to offer.
In other words, without god, I’m FREE
1. Not true. we all shoe horn reality in what we currently believe. The only difference between a believer doing this and a non believer doing the same thing, is what the non-believer is shoe horning changes from generation to generation.
2.see above
3.I agree blaming the devil is stupid way to live life. However we all have to wait on opportunity to present itself before a true resolution to any real problem is avaible. now whether your attribute that resolution to God or your own efforts is the only real difference
4.What book Chapter and verse says you can not do this as a believer?
5.So too are all bible based Christians. The identification of sin is the only purpose of the Law, so as lead one to repentance.
6.So basically you want to hold a grudge on any one you like so long as you can justify it by deeming someone wanting to do you harm. Understand true forgiveness only means you are willing to forgo reprocussions afforded to you by the one who has done you wrong. It does not mean you have to remain in a position to be at someone's mercy or pretend that person has done nothing wrong to you.
7.I guess that all depends on what you mean by 'socialize.' In a platonic way I am also free to socialize with anyone I wish. However I do not feel the need to socialize with everyone.
And that is true freedom. I am free from the chains of sin, free from the chains of social demands, I am allowed to have a right and wrong EVEN if it offends those who do wrong, I am able to forgive those who have done me great wrong, and not ever thing or dewell on them again. Not only am I Free I am at peace. I am content, and I am very happy with my life. Why? Because I have the oppsite of what makes you think you are 'free.'
