Perhaps it is because of age old traditions of religious faith which gives hope and joy to so many?
1: I see I should have chosen a better formulation. What I meant is that humans can do things that are not prescribed in their genes, for exemple killing ourselves. I called the ability to do that 'being human'. Sorry for the confusion.
2: I don't really see what that has to do with it. Maybe you should explain yourself a bit more.
