Of course there is, since visual perception isn't confirmation of essence.
Suppose I'm a sculptor, a phenomenally good one. In fact, the best sculptor the world has ever seen. I take a block of marble and remove everything that doesn't look like an elephant. I place my sculpture next to a real flesh and blood and bone elephant. Visually, they are identical, but one of them is manifestly not an elephant (hint: it's the one that doesn't trample you when you poke it with a stick).
