Indeed, it is not nihilistic to seek to hamper the attainment of better and less varnished understanding of reality by pretending such reality as already understood is not what it is, and instead embrace a fantasy that is pleasing only to the most inferior intellects, with no grounding in any facet of reality outside the fervent wishes of the willingly delusional mind, and possible to be thought of as beneficial only by ones almost as smugly confused as yourself.
