I only asked your age because these events often first occur at a certain age range.
Based on your story and the fact that this has been going on since 2007, my advice is for you to seek professional medical help. You have some thought process that need to be addressed and that should not happen over the internet. I/We can be a support system for you but I feel that this forum is not the answer, never will be the answer for your issues.
As far as psychiatric medication goes, there is no magic bullet. However, medication can get you to a place neurochemically (a more neutral/stable place), where you can more effectively address your issues in therapy. Look at it as an adjunct (helper) to therapy. If offered by a professional I say do not reject it out of hand. It does not necessarily mean that you have to take the medication for life.
Hoping you find a solution and happiness!
I agree with the OP that psychoactive chemical therapy is given too often in this country, but the same is true of antibiotics and opiates.
That does not mean that a person who is in genuine need of those things should avoid them.
Well said, mh.brewer!
Addendum, for the OP: There have been several studies of the brain which suggest that seeing "a presence" (which manifests differently for each person) is related to a specific form of "seizure", or essentially a crossing of the wires in the brain. It can be brought on artificially in people who are susceptible to it by certain conditions relating to blood flow in the brain, which include intense stress, prayer, and meditative states. There's even a magnetic helmet which modifies blood flow in the brain and can trigger various visions and feelings of presence (called "The God Helmet", if you want to Google it), meaning that it's entirely possible your experience as a "vision" was not genuine. I mean no insult by saying this; you are best served if you understand what may be happening to you as thoroughly as you can. Knowledge is strength.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.
