They are trying so hard to say all the "right" things about Francis while kicking the shit out of him for "not understanding" capitalism and for paying more attention to the likes of Al Gore, rather than real scientists, on the issue of climate change. If only we could get Francis to relocate the Vatican to NYC, the fun would never end.
I'm sure Fox will be relieved when he leaves. It must be a bitch pandering to the Catholics and holding the right-wing line all at once.
That's why Catholics need to be Catholic first, and liberal/conservative second. Both sides have things about them that are in line with Catholic teaching. On the left side, the Church is against the death penalty and concerned with the poor. On the right side, the Church is against abortion and pro traditional marriage. That's why I personally refuse to get too involved in politics, and more Catholics should follow suit, imho.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
