Growing up a lot of people thought I shouldn't play video games because they were 'for boys', and that girls shouldn't play them. My little brother played with my barbies a lot. What is Josh Feuerstein afraid of? That boys who play with dolls will learn to respect women? That they'll become gay? As if being 'gay' is a bad thing. Besides, I think I'd be more 'worried' about someone 'becoming' gay if they were a boy playing with a shirtless GI Joe with all those muscles and.... where was I again? Oh right. Shirtless G.I. Joe.
A good parent accepts their child for who they are, not for what their religious beliefs state they should be. A good parent buys toys for their kids that they want, not based on what is expected of their gender. A good parent doesn't shun their child because they are transgendered or gay. They're supportive.
My uncle had a friend who had a daughter that was transgendered. He didn't support the idea that she was a girl, and eventually it led to her killing herself. And it was the one thing he regretted more than anything in the world. A friend of mine is a Lesbian, and her parents sent her to one of those "pray away the gay' camps, and afterwards regretted it. Thankfully she didn't kill herself, but she did consider it. A parent should love their child no matter what. I say this as a mother, as a teacher, and as a daughter. If you can't accept that your son likes playing with barbies, then the problem is probably with you, and not with him. Just my two cents.
More like twenty dollars!
Seriously, kudos. Agree 100%.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.
