Yeah, and if you told your child that he/she could have slaves and you told your child that they could beat them as long as they didn't die within a day or two, then who would be the immoral one? It would be you! Just because you give someone commands with consequences doesn't mean that you are doing something moral.
Christians are inherently authoritarians, and their so-called morality, in the end, comes down to "might makes right" and "obey without question". Of course, they won't acknowledge that they are authoritarians or that they subscribe to "might makes right" because they wipe their asses with the Hebrew Bible whenever it suits them and because of the kinder, gentler moral commandments they like to focus on (golden rule, etc.) -- in addition to the fact that the dictator they bow down to is not mortal (or even something they can demonstrate exists).
