The systemic errancy problem of the scribes of Antiquity
#3
RE: The systemic errancy problem of the scribes of Antiquity
One of the first lesssons in history - at least in Europe - is to present you with an anonymous text. No author, no date, no origin. What you are expected to do, is fill in the blanks. Going by text and text only to determine the missing parts. The way it is written, the terminology used and the facts mentioned.

That's what they drill into your head, right from the start. Be critical of your sources, Always look for the where, why and when.
