Science doesn't work like that. First someone would have to form a COHERENT, LOGICAL and - most importantly - TESTABLE theory of god, which could then be proven or dis-proved. That has not happened so far.
God is whatever you want it to be - just as any imaginary thing - which is why whenever any particular religious claim regarding god is disproved by science - religious people just make up new ones. The Sun used to be considered a god. Now that we know what it actually is - only very few, very ignorant people worship it.
It's called "God of the gaps" and as long as we don't know absolutely everything (which is impossible) - there will always be opportunities for wishful thinking, or dishonest people to "insert" gods into the universe.
