This has been followed up by an apparent misunderstanding of the word 'atheist' and stunning ignorance of the most basic ideas of evolution.No wonder people were a bit blunt in their responses.You need a thick skin and sense of humour here.
The word 'atheist' comes from the Greek 'atheos" a=not theos=god. An atheist is simply a person who does not believe in gods.Period.
Atheism is NOT a religion,an ideology,a moral code,a world view or a club. There is no such thing as an atheist position on any subject other than the existence of God(s)
I'm an agnostic atheist.I assert " I do not believe in god(s) due to lack of evidence" As an atheist,I have no views on evolution,morality,politics,climate change or any other topic . However, as a skeptic,materialist, egoist,utilitarian,cynic and misanthrope I have views on many things.I'm not here to teach anyone anything and don't argue with apologists, I don't have the patience.Nor do I care about your personal superstitions.
