Does anyone really believe religion will one day die out? If not, give up trying to convert people, and begin trying to understand them.

Sure, our religions die out when people either finally wake up and realise it's a steaming pile of fallacious made-up bullshit, or, more likely, when the human race goes extinct.

Why would you think people who realise it's a steaming pile of fallacious made-up bullshit would not have reason to pass the steaming pile of fallacious made-up bullshit as truth to people who don't realize it's a steaming pile of fallacious made-up bullshit? It's not always in the interest of those who know to put all other prople closer to equal footing. Maximum private good is not the same as maximum public good.
