AI's will not acheive what we would have in the future, without human help.
We can't say anything for sure about the future of Artificial Intelligence yet because we haven't yet created anything in anyway advanced.
The whole field is still up for grabs. But theoretically there is no reason why we can't just simulate an entire human brain if we had the processing power and the ability to measure to a fine enough detail. In which case what humans could do an AI could do as well.
But one thing is for sure, animals and humans have evolved the way they have for a reason. And we know that those same reasons still apply to Artificially Intelligent robots. We both have a single situated body with different needs. For example, to eat, drink, stay safe etc. A robot also needs to arbitrate between competing needs, to maintain its energy supply, stay safe and perform its function. In all likelihood, an AI will act very much like another animal because it will have the same needs. There is good reason to think that any highly advanced intelligence, whether artificial or natural will have consciousness and emotions.
