Just because you skimmed through the OT or used wiki or what ever and didn't find that Jesus came to save the world doesn't mean it's not in the OT, look harder.
jenny1972 Wrote:In Matthew 15:22-26 A Canaanite woman (a gentile) from that vicinity came to him, crying out, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession." Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, "Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us." He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel." The woman came and knelt before him. "Lord, help me!" she said. He replied, "It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs."
What's the matter are you afraid to use entire passage, leaving out the lat part is deceitful and doesn't show what the verses teach. The verses are titled "The faith of a Canaanite woman." Verse 27) She said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table." 28) Then Jesus answered her, "O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire." And her daughter was healed instantly. Leaving out these verses may support your view, but leaving them out doesn't support the truth, so if you do not like being called a "cherry picker" then don't try falsifying the truth of scripture by leaving out relative verses, please.

Jesus calls this woman a dog because she is not the right nationality and he only came for the jews and she was a gentile. jesus identified as the messiah to the jews , prophesied and in and not contradicting the old testament
Now let's look at what was actually said and meant in their conversation. When Jesus referred to the children's bread and the dogs she agreed with with Him, unusual for a woman that had just been called a dog, wouldn't you agree. Jesus was giving an example and she knew He was and what He meant. Now for another mistake you've made. I bold and underlined the word "for" because the words are smaller, but that little word you used was your misinterpretation of what the verses say. In the verses you posted Jesus says, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel. This little word "to" means Jesus was sent to minister to the Jewish people, John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world He sent His one and only Son that whoever believes ...", so the words world and whoever represents all people not just the Jews. God as the Son came to minister to His chosen people so that they would have another chance to spread God's love to the world, this is why He said, "to the lost sheep of Israel," He was trying to get them to finish their original mission, God's will for them.
Jesus healed the woman's daughter because of her faith just as He had done for other Gentiles because of their faith. Jesus is telling us that faith is so important to the truth and reality of who He is. If Jesus had really believed the woman was no more than a dog do you really think He would turn around and heal her daughter. You can pick through the verses to deny Jesus so you don't have to accept Him, but is that really be real and truthful to yourself.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
