That's probably because you are making a category error. Evolution has to do with material causation; creation has to do with agent causation. The OT creation accounts teach about the purpose of creation and the purposer. Ancient Near Eastern Hebrews didn't say anything of any relevance to whether evolution is true, or even the age of the Earth.
