So in regards to the question, you wouldn't. Why not? I don't have a response to how this is "wrong". I'm starting to think that it's not "wrong". I just want good answers fro atheists to how its wrong. Because deep down, I know it is. I guess I just need to convince myself that it is. I don't have a good reason to logically defend that position that it is wrong though. Please help me out. I need logical answers. One can say that I should take in account the feelings of the girl and her life. But there's no objective and logical reason I should even care about the girl in the first place. Does this simply make me a sociopath?
All that it requires to understand that raping and murdering are wrong, is a bit of empathy, and the realization that you would not want to be raped or murdered.
If you don't have the empathy required, you may be a sociopath.
Google and watch the lecture "the superiority of secular morality" by Matt Dilahunty.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
