I don't know Reid's circumstances, but he's been active for what, 30 years or so? Hendrix was in the spotlight for less than 5 years, had a grand total of 3 albums, then snuffed it at 27...how much more favourable to Reid could the 'circumstances' be?
I love yer, Brian, but come on - Hendrix was the best rock guitarist who ever lived, bar none, and has had far more influence on several genres of music than Reid could dream of. You're a good man, but you're wrong on this one.

Again, not taking away from Hendrix at all. Just like any other industry, like a CEO or actor or sports star, there are far more many who have the talent who for circumstances don't get that big. Living Color and Veron Reid are talented. Competition to the top is tough, Hendrix had the talent, but he also caught the right people at the right time.
