He's a lot smarter than you give him credit for. Just because I totally disagree with him on the topic of God, that doesn't mean it necessarily has to do anything with his intelligence.

I am certainly not smart.

But I've done the hard work of reading integrated academic defenses and critiques of theism and atheism that take science, philosophy, history, etc very seriously.

So I can speak to that area with some fluency.

And when you have that sort of background, the things people say on internet forums sometimes strike you as...less than informed.

That's not itself a problem. That can be easily hashed out in an analytic discussion of ideas. I've been corrected by atheists sometimes and find these discussions enriching.

But this dirum isn't exactly well known for analytic rational critiques. Just an honest observation.

I'd love to change that if I could.
