Welcome.
A little about atheism. First, it isn't a philosophy or a religion. It isn't a system of belief at all. An atheist is simply someone who is unconvinced that a god or gods exist, that would include evil gods like the devil and nebulously defined deist gods. We come in two kinds: agnostic atheists (the vast majority) who see no real evidence of god, but don't believe that a god have been proven not to exist; and gnostic atheists (very thin on the ground) who believe absolutely that no god exists. Most of us agnostic atheists are not, however, interested in continuously looking for evidence for gods anymore than we are interested in looking for evidence of Atlantis or UFO abductions. Been there, done that. If new and conclusive evidence of a god surfaces, I'm sure it will be on the front page.
Never assume an atheist hasn't read the Bible, or knows nothing of theology, you will often be proven wrong.

If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
