That's really nice that you and others here are looking out for him. Even if ya'll don't believe there's anything wrong with it, you still respect him enough to discourage him from doing something he'd regret.
I just wish he'd nut up and do it by himself, for himself. It's like when people ask me, and they used to, for advice on how to handle some intimate or romantic problem; I don't like being put in a position where I can be potentially liable for it going wrong.
If he's likely to regret joining A69, maybe it's not for him anyway. If the fruit seems forbidden, and more so because it's attainable but undesirable, it's not for anyone else to concern themselves with. That's in the eye of the beholder.
