All this hypothetical intention talk leads no where.
It could be power hunger on behalf of himself or it can on behalf of God.
All this he could of done it for this, he couldn't have done it for that, is all meaningless.
If he was a fake Prophet, he was in it for himself. If he was a true Prophet, he did what he did for the sake of God.
All this discussion of motives is not going to solve this issue. We can theory all day and talk about what is more likely...but at the end, God wants us to determine this issue in an objective manner.
