I have also found (over the years) that people will accuse YOU of the misdemeanours and failures they recognise but will not admit to in themselves....by use of insults devised to make you feel inferior and them superior...basic human behaviour by basic humans....
It is fun to get into an insult slinging match with a friend.... but then it is not intended to be serious and so does not offend. As has been stated before...
