At about 16 I realized that I couldn't make myself believe in God, or at the very least, the Christian depiction of God. I became an adamant atheist for a couple of years. I suppose I felt lied to and cheated by religion? Whatever the reason, I was a major dickhole about it. After a little over a year, I realized that religion just didn't concern me anymore. It had no effect on my life. I had no reason to bash it or follow it. So now I'm more of an "apathetist" if you will, but I was browsing the forums and this seemed like a fun place to read, discuss, debate...so I registered.
Welcome!
Do you actually think that religion does not have an effect on your life?!
And you live on planet Earth?
You must have access to a drastically different news service than I do. One that does not report on: Islamic terrorism, Planned Parenthood shootings, public schools teaching pseudoscience, just for a start.
Maybe I should have specified that it doesn't have a personal, direct effect on my life.
