I guess that could kind of be interpreted as mockery, but I see it more as a bit of dismissive sarcasm. I don't care enough about what other societies consider virtuous standards of dress to actively mock.
It's not the standards themselves that I take issue with or seek to ridicule. It's the notion that anyone outside of said belief system should somehow care or give any consideration to the matter, whatsoever.
