One of the reasons I intend to never have children is that I wouldn't want to risk passing on any sociopathic genes that it seems very likely am carrying recessively. Same with various diseases, they can skip several or many generations, but sooner or later they express themselves again. Liberal abortion laws help keep miserable, unwanted children raised by unfit parents or social services to a minimum, and they help prevent the spread of sociopathic genes from rapist fathers.
That sounds like a tricky conversation, I bet that was hard for your mum to tell you.
