It's not about people lying about their experience. It's about them not being qualified to say their experience was really what it seemed to be. There's no evidence it occurs anywhere other than inside their own brain.
Lots of people all giving weird stories does not add up to credible evidence. There is nothing to test or examine. Anyone who cares about the truth does not take anecdotes, particular containing super weird stuff, as evidence of anything.
