I actually kinda feel the opposite. Before puberty I was Catholic because it was a psychological defense mechanism for a big scary world I don't understand yet. But once I was old enough to know for myself that it doesn't make sense how Santa could possibly being presents to the whole world, about three months later I had the chilling epiphany about God with similar logic. After that, I tried to force my belief for a little while, but it was so effed up and unnatural that I gave up and accepted reality around age 11 or so. (Along with the reality that I need to masturbate so I wouldn't sexual harass girls at school ;P )
