How do you make that out, that there were sacrifices made for them?
1) The country was invaded without provocation nor without justification by the US and its lackeys.
2) The invasion had nothing to do with restoring the country, as noted by the lack of a plan to introduce democracy, the sacking of the first US imposed governor quickly after it became evident that he had a plan to restore democracy, the insertion of oil giveaway laws into the imposed constitution the country currently labours under, the massive backhanders and bribes given to US companies to "reconstruct" the country when they were actually being paid to do nothing of the sort, and finally the deliberate policy of raising sectarian tensions between the ethnic groups within Iraq which has lead directly to the current murderous state of the country.
The US occupation of Iraq is not far off Nazi Germany's occupation of France or Belgium in intent and effect.
