Calling homosexuality abnormal simply because it's less usual than heterosexuality, is like calling cats abnormal to have as pets because they're not quite as popular as dogs.

Kinda. It is not normal to have Galapagos Tortoise as a pet. So you could rightfully consider a Tortoise an 'abnormal' pet to have. Like someone pointed out previously, left-handedness is an abnormality.

I maintain it's compairing apples and oranges. An abnormal pet or extra digit on an extremity is not a parallel compairison to a sexual disorder.
Disorder being defined as an irregularity, a disturbance, a malady, a deviation from the normal.
