No fair. Not with anybody, but I get what you mean.Sadly, a lot of people really think bisexual people are like love free for all, sexually desperate, cheating, threesome addicts with a thirst for attention and no heart. People in the lgbt community (not all, not in general) may make the mistake of not taking the "b" of lgbt seriously, because they feel it's a game. Not real. Easier. Just for fun. Gross. Attention seeking hobby. It's hard when a bisexual person, as a gay person can relate, didn't choose what they are, yet they are constantly being told they need to pick, always have one of each, or are fake. As a pflag member, I can tell you that even in safe zones, bisexual peoples can be outcasted. It's sad.
So I'll reply to this post not only applying it to homosexuality, but to anyone lgbt. I don't think it's a choice, but if it were, so the fuck what, and it would be a wonderful choice to make anyway. It would be awesome if people could choose who to love.
I have a poem that I named Prayer Trail about a girl who grew up in a fundie home hiding in her room praying for the gay in her to be cured. I sincerely feel that it's child abuse to teach kids to view something natural as evil. You can't tell a kid to repent for her freckles. Can't tell her to change her skin. Don't force her to hate who she is. It's abusive. It's torture.
Mamacita, would you mind . . . sending me a link to that poem? Or maybe putting it in a message?
Yes. I personally have known three women who were bisexual, and the way most lesbians treated them was shameful. One had been with a woman, and then started dating a guy, and all hell broke loose. These women weren't heartless bitches who were just "experimenting" and then going back to men - they were truly devoted to their partners.
I actually think that, possibly, without any cultural pressure to be heterosexual, there might be a lot more bisexuals. It could very well be our natural default. - - Although I still think hormones and genetics would create some Kinsey 0's & 6's.
