What's wrong with suppose or juxtapose? And why would you call it "repose"? It's a fucking human being's funeral, get it right the first time, why would you risk having to pose them again?
Its the technical term when you get to funerary rituals. Lying in repose is the bit where the dead is laid out in the coffin, the family are lined up and everybody else shuffles around either embarrasedly muttering "sorry for your troubles" (for want of something better to say) or bursting into tears. And you'll get groups of people chatting outside the funeral home remembering the good stuff, like the time Johnny nailed that Bally fellow after the u12s count final, hitting him so hard he lost four teeth.
Well that's how it goes in Ireland.
